about me

Originally from metro Detroit, I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2016 with a Bachelor’s in International Studies & Arabic. From there, I spent a few years working in human rights-focused NGOs before heading to graduate school at New York University (NYU) for a Masters in Near Eastern Studies, where my research focused on the implications of citizen journalism and open source investigative initiatives in the Middle East.

Upon completing my degree, I ventured into the field of documentary journalism and eventually found my way to Storyful — a social media news agency specializing in verifying user-generated content (UGC). After two years working in video verification and breaking news, I ultimately landed at AJ+, a global digital news project focused on telling human rights and social justice related stories.
